He was also a great teacher and was said to have taught many students the Vedas. However, it was his pride and ego that ultimately got the better of him. Ravana wanted to be worshipped as a god and went so far as to kidnap Sita in order to prove his power. This was his fatal mistake, as it led to his eventual downfall. So, was Ravan really a villain? The answer is not as simple as it appears. It seems that Ravana was a complex character, who was capable of both good and evil. On one hand, he was a generous and wise ruler, but on the other, his pride and ego caused his downfall. Ultimately, it is up to the reader to decide whether Ravana was a villain or not.
